Avant Garden

Chris Johnson is opening a new Flower Shop in Norfolk, Va. called the
“Avant Garden”. I framed some flower pictures as a grand opening gift
for the shop walls. While I was there he showed many around. I took this shot
with a 100mm macro lens. He has some great Orchids.

Chain Moray Eel, Bonaire

Chain Moray Eel, Town Pier, Bonaire N.A. He was not a very happy fellow
when I found him that night.

Manta Rays of Yap Island

Manta Ray from the Island of Yap, Micronesia. A beautiful Island
about 600 miles south of Guam. The Mantas come to this Island during
the later winter to early spring to mate. Each Manta has a pattern of dark marks
on their underside that make each one uniquely identifiable.

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Everyone must go to the Galapagos Islands off the country of Ecuador.
We have many pictures of wildlife, but this picture is a stark reminder of the
volcanic activity in the area. This lone “tree” is all that is left on a point just
east of a 1998 eruption. Notice the lava rock in the background.

Yap Island Mandarin Fish

Yap Island Mandarin fish are a little difficult to shot. You need to be in the right place at the right time. The Males seek out the females in 8 to 12 feet of water at just about sun down. They are a little shy except went they find the right lady. The two perform a 5 second "little spin" then dive back down into the protection of the reef. One of the more colorful fish in the Micronesia area of the western Pacific Ocean.

Maui Hawaii, Slate Pencil Urchin.

My brother got married to a lovely lady named Amy in Maui.
She loves to dive (a major criteria in choosing a wife). We dove at
the Molokini Crater site. We found these beautiful Urchins. The “arms” turn black
when dried(we did not do that!). They where used for writing before pencils where available.

PALAU Brilliant Star

This picture looks like a fake Star Fish or color enhanced. I have not done one thing
to change the original jpg (wish I had shot it in a raw format). Most of them you see
are not this colorful.

Bonaire N.A., Red Fin Parrot Fish - Intermediate Phase

As an adult this fish would not catch your attention. In the Intermediate phase
they can be very colorful. I found this guy getting ready for sleep
after we came back looking for a sea horse (which we did find. Yes!)

Ms. Amanda Gift, FHM Model

A website, SmokinHot.com, is developing a local marketing concept to support the sales of boats, motorcycles, bars, cars to young men. We are exploring the effectiveness of the concept for our boat sales company. The FHM model was on-site to do a test video and photos. They offered me a chance to shot a professional model. I sent a shot to my to mentor, Chris Crumley, who tweaked a few things. This was actually very hard work. Your mind must stay on the camera.

Spotted Eagle Ray, Cozumel Mexico

Spotted Eagle Rays are found around the world. A beautiful ray that feeds in the shallows on conch, small crabs, etc. Very strong jaws! I found two sitting on the bottom more concerned about breaking open a few conchs then in my approach.
I got within a 10 feet before the “took-off”.
