The annual dive trip for the Dog House Divers was to the Cayman Islands in 2006. I was shooting with the Canon 100mm marco lens on the D20 for the first time and
discovered how beautiful these small Sea Star can be in a close up shot.
A good friend and great photographer named Chris Crumley said to always keep a camera with you. I was headed to a meeting and saw a lot of color coming from a field full of Zinnias (did not know what type of flower they were at the time). I spent the next two mornings in this field practicing with the 100 mm and 180 mm macro lenses.
My daughter Nikki rode in the Middleburg Classic Horse Show. I have never taken pictures of horses jumping hunter style jumps. She asked me to try! This is a practice jump prior to the in ring events. I did have fun!
I had some luck at shooting a rare type of Clark Anemone fish in Truk Lagoon, Micronesia last spring. My mentor Chris will not let me publish the best shot. He has a “special plan” for it in the future! Here is one of the not so great shots.
A great trainer named Sean O’Malley (Cardio Coach™) was training a young lady named Aimee.
He was very proud of her effort and asked me to take a few pictures.
I told Sean I do underwater pictures but would try! Aimee made great progress with Sean!
I have been “practicing” on flowers with 50mm & 100mm macro lenses.
This orchid is a hybrid from Palau Micronesia. I took this picture last spring
at the end of a great Palau Dive trip. The flower is much better
prettier then this picture.
Truk Lagoon is a great place for Anemone fish. This Pink Anemone fish in a light green
bulb Anemone with a purple underside caught my attention. This picture
was taken near a WWII Japanese combat tank on a sunken 400’ cargo ship.
